Zinedine Zidane has suffered another attack from Josep Pedrerol, this time over Luka Jovic’s fate at Real Madrid.
The famed host of Spanish TV show ‘El Chiringuito de Jugones’ launched another scathing attack on Zidane for his treatment of Jovic.
The 22-year-old has struggled to live-up to his €60m price tag following his arrival from Eintracht Frankfurt in 2019. He’s only scored two goals in 28 appearances, albeit in a very limited role at Real Madrid.
Despite making only the ninth start of his Los Blancos career in Saturday’s 3-2 win over Real Betis, Jovic may leave on loan. Manchester United, in particular, could be a possible destination as per reports.
Now Pedrerol, who openly criticized Zidane over Gareth Bale’s exit to Tottenham last week, has slammed the Real Madrid manager once again.
“If Zidane kicks him out, he has to resign, he is the only player he has chosen and Real Madrid was very angry to pay €60m for him,” Pedrerol said on El Chiringuito.
“He said he needed him. And now after a year without playing he says he is not worth it. Zidane cannot sign anyone, there are coaches who are there to place the pieces. Nor is he someone who watches football at all hours, he watches Real Madrid and someone else.
“To buy you have to pay attention to people who watch a lot of football. Put the pieces to Zidane and he wins, he is not discussed. But ask Jovic to be signed for €60m … and he says to go away?”
Zidane refused to rule out an exit for Jovic in a press conference on Tuesday ahead of tonight’s league game against Valladolid.
