With a convincing victory against Arsenal, Diogo Jota got to score his first goal as a Liverpool player at Anfield on Monday evening.

Liverpool’s Diogo Jota can finally say he is a goal-scorer as a new Red, he got his big moment against Arsenal near the end of the match. The Portuguese player came on the pitch during the second half for the final ten minutes of the match. Sadio Mane came off the pitch after a good performance for Jota to get his opportunity.

The former Wolves player had one major chance that Mo Salah wasted for him after getting in his way during a clear chance. But just a few minutes before the end of the match, Jota received a precise cross that allowed him to take a shot straight to the bottom corner. The Portuguese player sealed the final 3-1 victory for the Reds and he celebrated in style.

Robertson goes from zero to hero in a few minutes.

The first half was a lot more interesting than the second half for a couple of reasons. Arsenal found some fortune after Andrew Robertson gifted Lacazette with a rebound that the French striker transformed into a goal. Andy was clearly upset by his mistake but he would have time to redeem himself.

Not long after that, Sadio Mane scored the equalizer just before Andrew had his chance. The Scotsman received a long-range pass from fellow full-back, Trent Alexander-Arnold and scored the Reds’ second goal. With this result, the game went into half-time. Liverpool was the clear dominant force throughout the match and the initial Arsenal goal didn’t seem fair.

Lacazette’s hat-trick of missed chances.

The second half gave us one of the most forgettable performances by a striker in recent memory. Alexandre Lacazette had three one-on-one chances with Alisson Becker and he missed all of them. Although the Brazilian goalie played his part to perfection, a striker simply can’t miss that many chances in front of goal.

This all happened right before Diogo Jota’s third goal and left the Arsenal striker completely defeated after leaving the pitch. It was clear that Lacazette won’t be able to sleep well tonight after those missed opportunities. Liverpool is the just winner of this anticipated Premier League match against Arsenal.
