Jose Mourinho says Gareth Bale is happy and motivated to be back at Tottenham while giving a fitness update on the Welshman.

Jose Mourinho believes Gareth Bale is ready to give his all for Spurs after making a return to the club.

Seven years after leaving North London for Real Madrid, the Welshman is back in familiar surroundings on a season-long loan.

Spurs and Mourinho already boast a star-studded frontline headline by Harry Kane and Son Heung-min. Gareth Bale is set to add even more firepower to the mix.

However, it might be a while before he makes his much awaited second debut for the club.

It was reported that Bale joined Spurs already injured and is expected to be out for four weeks at least.

Mourinho remains optimistic about the winger’s fitness and says his motivation could even see him return earlier than expected.

“Bale is so happy to be with a club of his heart. He is so happy to play for us” Mourinho said as quoted by the BBC.

“When a player has this motivation, many, many times you can shorten the period of recovering and shorten the period of getting fit and ready to play.”

“We want to help him, so when he’s available to train with the team, we’re more than happy to have him and help him back to a level that made him one of the best players in the world.”

All things going well, Bale could make his first loan appearance for Spurs on the 17th of October. In line for that day is a London derby against local rivals West Ham.
