According to a report from RAC1, Ronald Koeman told Riqui Puig that he is not counting on him for this season and he should look for a new club.
Riqui Puig is widely considered one of La Masia’s most impressive talents as of late, but it seems Ronald Koeman doesn’t want him at the club. The Dutch manager allegedly came to Barcelona with the idea to make a revolution inside the squad. However, recent developments haven’t given us the idea that he wants to do that.
The board hasn’t moved on to sign new players because they don’t appear willing to offload seasoned veterans. There was a big plan in which the manager was supposed to trust the new talents and the academy players.
But as far as we know, the coach plans on using the same players from the 8-2 elimination against Bayern Munich. Instead of getting rid of those footballers. The boss is starting to show his true colors by telling players like Riqui to search for a new club.
They want to sell him or loan him.
According to a report from RAC1 in Catalonia, Koeman decided to snub Puig for this weekend’s Gamper Trophy. He allegedly told the youngster to start looking for a new club because he doesn’t fit in his plans for the future. We have no idea why, but Riqui Puig has been constantly disrespected by several managers over the last couple of seasons.
We get that his body isn’t fully developed yet but history teaches us that football was made for short players. Barcelona is a specific example of absolute ballers who are short in stature but extremely creative. Riqui Puig represents this tradition and Koeman is killing it by sending him off to other clubs.
This isn’t the way in which the Barcelona supporters want their club managed and they have grown tired of waiting for the next board to arrive. Today is another sad day for all Culers. They are losing another one of their own.
