As it stands, a report from Spain claims Ronald Koeman is still not eligible to take charge of an official game for Barcelona.

Koeman and Barcelona might find themselves in limbo off the pitch regarding paperwork.

The Dutchman was appointed Barca boss last month after Quique Setien was given his marching orders.

On the official front, it appears some paperwork needed to finalize Koeman as the club’s manager hasn’t been sorted.

As per Spanish outlet Cadena COPE, Setien has not been ‘officially’ sacked with Barca still yet to pay his severance package. The Spanish manager was only ‘relieved’ of his duties and the official process didn’t follow.

That means Koeman is still not recognized as Barca boss by the RFEF. It puts Barcelona in limbo with their 2020/21 La Liga campaign set to kick-off later this month.

The report adds that the Catalan giants must sort all necessary paperwork and payments with Setien or Koeman will not be allowed on the dugout for any official game.

The Dutch manager has been in charge of two Barca friendlies already but the same privileges would not be granted for official games.

Barcelona have about 10 days to sort the issue before their La Liga campaign begins against Villarreal on the 27th of September.
