Steven Zhang admires Antonio Conte’s composed mannerisms while indicating that he is the right man to take Inter Milan forward.
Inter Milan were expected to finally end their 10-year trophy drought last season as they looked a strong competitor in both Serie A and Europa League.
Unfortunately for Inter, they started losing more and more ground on Juventus as the title race progressed and eventually ended up finishing fourth in the table.
Their Europa League campaign also ended on an undesired note as they finished second-best to Sevilla.
The barren season was expected to be the nail on the coffin for Antonio Conte, who had spent close to €150 million for squad reinforcement in his first season at San Siro.
But a European final and a close title race, at least initially, was apparently enough for the Inter hierarchy to be hopeful of a bright future under Conte, and president Steven Zhang has now further instilled his faith in the Italian tactician.
“All of Inter are aiming for victory, this aspiration is part of our mission,” said Zhang in an interview with Corriere della Sera.
“Never have I seen someone who works so hard, with such intensity, as Conte. This characteristic also unites us. So does the attention to detail.
“I found a calm coach, constructive, far from the mood told by the media. When he sits around a table, he expresses his ideas in a calm way, finalizing his proposals for the good of the team and the club.”
