During a passionate rant against his old club, Rio Ferdinand lashed out against Manchester United’s poor transfer dealings of the summer.
It appears Rio Ferdinand finally realized that it’s “business as usual” for Manchester United in the transfer window. The global pandemic might be to blame for many clubs not having the means to buy new players.
But this is not an excuse for Manchester United. They are one of the wealthiest clubs in the world. Some of us believed that the days of inaction and uncertainty were a thing of the past. Especially after the Red Devils secured Bruno Fernandes during the winter transfer window. However, they haven’t been able to secure a proper transfer post-quarantine thus far.
The most recent fiasco happened over the last couple of days with the Red Devils failing to secure both Gareth Bale and Sergio Reguilon. In fact, from the outside it seems like the club was used by Real Madrid in order to attract a higher bidder. The latest mistake from the United board left Rio Ferdinand utterly disappointed at their attempts.
Sancho is another massive fail for United.
Another player who doesn’t seem close to coming to United is Jadon Sancho. Rio Ferdinand complained about his old club for not having the courage to spend the necessary money to buy such players.
“Frank has made signing players like it’s the norm, like it’s easy – water off a duck’s back,· said Rio on his Youtube channel.
“The difference in the way Chelsea have done their business compared to say my team Man United.
“There is no noise there’s nothing going on, all you’re seeing is bang – deal. Little bit of talk, bang – deal.
“That is what’s frustrating for me and all the Man United fans. “Sancho was talked about months ago,” Ferdinand added.
“Still not done, it’s so frustrating. “I’m not saying deals are easy to be done but Chelsea are showing deals can be done if you put the money down and it’s all done in the right way.”
Why is Manchester United having such a hard time deciding on new transfers?
