Just after his announcement as a Real Sociedad player, David Silva has tested positive for coronavirus.
David Silva will have to go on self-isolation after testing positive for coronavirus.
The 34-year-old recently returned to La Liga as a free agent. He signed a two-year deal with Real Sociedad earlier this month.
After excelling in his time at Etihad, Silva wants to spend the latter years of his career in familiar surroundings.
Plying his trade in La Liga also means he can be much closer to his family.
Silva arrived in Spain today where he was officially confirmed as a Real Sociedad player. He took his first pictures in the club jersey and looked excited for his new adventure.
Just after that, the midfielder took his mandatory tests which showed that he was positive for coronavirus.
Sociedad confirmed that the midfielder is currently not displaying any symptoms of the disease and is self-isolating.
“Real Sociedad informs that @21LVA [David Silva] has tested positive for COVID-19 in the test carried out at Policlinica Gipuzkoa. The player is asymptomatic and is self-isolating.”
The former Valencia stars arrives at Real Sociedad with a knack to win trophies just like his stint in England.
