Barcelona are looking to reshape the squad, and the signing of Ajax’s Donny Van de Beek could see Ronald Koeman kick-starting his transfer activity.

Koeman is eager to revamp the squad he inherited from Quique Setien, and the prospect of landing highly-rated Van de Beek would appeal.

Sergio Busquets, Arturo Vidal, and Ivan Rakitic are all expected to leave Camp Nou to make way for fresh faces in the midfield.

After snapping up Frenkie de Jong only last summer, Barcelona are now keen on reuniting the 23-year-old with his former Ajax teammate.

According to Football Oranje, the Catalan giants are looking to take advantage of the Lancers’ interest in Luis Suarez to get the deal over the line.

Suarez, 33, has already admitted he could settle with playing second fiddle at Barcelona, although leaving the door open for a possible departure.

The Uruguayan star spent four years in Amsterdam before teaming up with Liverpool in 2011 and might embrace the prospect of a reunion.

Van de Beek, who’s been nothing short of astonishing since breaking through at Ajax, has a host of admirers across Europe.

Manchester United and Real Madrid are long-term suitors for the versatile 23-year-old midfielder.

However, Koeman is confident of luring his compatriot to Camp Nou, as he also eyes sensational swoop for the Liverpool stalwart Georginio Wijnaldum.

The 57-year-old manager relies upon his influence and reputation back in his homeland to help him assemble a Dutch colony in Catalonia.
