The Manchester City teammates will have to forget their friendship when they go against each other at the international stage on Saturday.

Oleksander Zinchenko is wary of “one of the best wingers in the world” Raheem Sterling ahead of Ukraine vs England.

Ukraine progressed to Euro 2020 quarter-finals after a narrow 2-1 victory over Sweden on Tuesday night, with Zinchenko opening the scoring inside the first 30 minutes while Artem Dovbyk netting the match-winner in the dying moments of extra time.

Elsewhere, England overcame Germany 2-0 at Wembley in the Round of 16. Sterling increased his tally to three goals in the tournament while Harry Kane finally opened his goalscoring account.

Andriy Shevchenko’s side and Gareth Southgate’s men now meet at Stadio Olimpico in Rome to contest for a place in the semi-finals.

“Raheem Sterling is one of the best wingers in the world. Right now he is in amazing form,” said Zinchenko, per Evening Standard.

“He is great, he makes the difference. We obviously need to pay attention to him and we will need to try to somehow stop him because he’s on a roll now.

“Who is the strongest opponent that I have ever played? I have said several times that it’s the footballers from Manchester City, those that I see every day at training.”
