In the after-match interview, Zinchenko gave some insight on the mentality of Manchester City following Kyle Walker’s red card.

Oleksandr Zinchenko talked about the overall atmosphere in the dressing room after Kyle Walker received the red card against RB Leipzig on Tuesday night.

During the final stages of the Champions League clash between the sides, the full-back was shown a straight red card by the referee, Sandro Scharer. The England international kicked Leipzig striker Andre Silva and received a one-game suspension for doing so.

“Kyle (Walker) is such an important player for us, everyone knows that he’s one of the best full-backs in the world. The team needs him,” Zinchenko explained in the post-match interview.

“Unfortunately, he got the red card. I don’t know if it was the right decision because I didn’t see it.”

Further, the Ukrainian player stressed on Walker’s reaction and also revealed how Man City are dealing with the loss. The 24-year-old said: “He (Kyle Walker) was disappointed in the dressing room. But there is no time to be sad, we have to react well. We have to move on.”

Despite the fact that Pep Guardiola’s team suffered a defeat on the European, they have managed to gain a lead on the former league leaders Chelsea. And we cannot argue that it has been one of the most competitive Premier League seasons so far.

Nevertheless, the loss of Walker in the round of 16 tie will be a huge blow for Man City. Indeed, the full-back has been an integral part of the defensive unit set up by the Spanish boss.
