Ahead of Real Madrid’s match against Cadiz, Zinedine Zidane proved he fears some of his key players might fall injured due to overload.

As we go through a global pandemic, managers like Zinedine Zidane are starting to feel the effects for their players. Real Madrid has several footballers who are getting a lot of miles and haven’t rested properly since last season. The recent international break took a toll on many of his stars, namely players like Sergio Ramos, Toni Kroos, or Casemiro.

We can also place Luka Modric amongst those players that need some rest after their long trips. The manager sent a stern warning about these stars who need to take a breather and revealed his plans to use other players for the match against Cadiz.

Los Blancos play the recently promoted club that was a true sensation during the ‘80s. ‘Zizou’ has all the intention to rotate some of his biggest stars and only use them if necessary. However, he trusts that the players he calls for the challenge can respond well.

Zidane’s plans to rotate and his fears.

During this Friday’s press conference via AS, Zidane spoke about his concerns: “Yes, we’ve discussed this many times. In order to win things during a very long season, we need rotations. We have very good players that we can use. I also want to remind everybody what we are all going through. They never rest. What I want is to talk to our supporters, they are the ones that matter because they always want us to win.

“Our players never rest. There’s a series of seven matches, then they go with the national team. I’m not complaining, I only want to explain that we need to rotate and I think we can win this way. We’ve proven that before. We can win titles in this manner. The reality is that our players never stop, others can rest a little bit. But they never stop. We will continue in this line.”
