Osimhen’s activity on Twitter has stirred controversy after a heated response from the Nigerian star.

Victor Osimhen is among players who often keeps fans updated through his social media posts. The Nigeria striker’s presence on Twitter has increased in recent days, mostly due to his excitement over the AFCON.

Despite not playing in the tournament, the Napoli star encourages the Super Eagles by publishing supportive messages on his account.

However, Osimhen’s increased presence on social media caused controversy when a fan branded him a ‘Twitter account admin’ on Tuesday.

Osimhen replied to the Tweet, writing:

“Lol just like your father wasted his sperm giving birth to an a$$hole like you”.

On Sunday, Napoli announced Osimhen has recovered from COVID-19. The striker has also recovered from a face injury he suffered a month ago.

However, the 23-year-old will not join the Super Eagles for their next matches of the tournament. Nigeria’s Football Federation announced their decision to drop him from their AFCON squad earlier this month.

NFF’s official statement reads: “Lively forward Victor Osimhen’s positive test to the coronavirus pandemic a couple of days ago and injury to the versatile Abdullahi Shehu have constrained changes to Nigeria’s final 28-man list for the 33rd Africa Cup of Nations starting in Cameroon next weekend,

“Osimhen’s absence paves way for Greece-based Henry Onyekuru who was also at the last finals in Egypt. In-form rapid raider Emmanuel Dennis, whose English Premiership club is baring fangs, has been excused to provide room for Czech Republic-based forward Peter Olayinka.”

Following a victory against Egypt, Nigeria will face Sudan in their next game on Saturday.
