In a recent interview with a German outlet, Xavi Hernandez made a wild admission about Joachim Low and FC Barcelona.
Xavi Hernandez has made many admissions in his life, but perhaps this one about Joachim Low is one of the wildest. As we all know, the Germany manager is about to leave his position after 15 years coaching the squad. His biggest achievement was winning the 2014 World Cup in Brazil and the way he did it. For the overwhelming majority, that German squad was one of the most dominant in the tournament’s history.
So much so, that even Xavi Hernandez just confessed he loves the style of football Low imprinted on his players for many years. This statement got to a point where the Catalan manager confirmed he would accept the Germany boss as Barcelona’s new coach. In his view, Low has a similar philosophy to Barcelona. This comes simply from a place where Xavi enjoyed watching Germany’s attacking football play out throughout the years.
Is Joachim Low really in tune with Barcelona.
Xavi Hernandez’s statement comes directly in line with something Joan Laporta recently said about German managers. We all believe the new president will try to sign Julian Nagelsmann but Low might be a credible option as well. If Xavi doesn’t come to coach the squad soon, Laporta has many options to replace Koeman.
In an interview with Suddeutsche Zeitung, this is what Xavi said: “Joachim Low is a top manager. He always wants to entertain the fans. Attacking football. Then he became a World Cup champion with that style. Germany has developed a different comprehension of the game that reminds me of Spain or FC Barcelona. I believe he would be a perfect candidate to coach Barcelona for his understanding of the game and his personality.”
