During a public event, Xavi Hernandez made a surprising prediction about the upcoming 2022 World Cup that will take place in Qatar.

The upcoming 2022 World Cup in Qatar seems to have Xavi Hernandez convinced. This has absolutely nothing to do with the fact he’s been working in that country for the last five years, not at all. It’s in no way related to the fact that Xavi has become a spokesperson for the World Cup that is taking place during the winter of 2022. In all seriousness, we understand why the Catalan manager is hyping up the next tournament while actively ignoring the many controversial details.

The Qatar World Cup has been under a lot of scrutinies since it was selected by Sepp Blatter as the venue for the competition. However, this doesn’t change they absolutely have the infrastructure to deliver a highly luxurious competition when the time comes. There have been several stadium constructions that lasted since the selection and recently were inaugurated. Xavi is convinced we will see a spectacular sight with no major issues.

Xavi trusts the World Cup organizers.

“I think the tournament schedule is a great advantage, for [both] the players and the fans,” said Xavi through Marca. “Historically, World Cups have been [played] at the end of the season when most players are tired both mentally and physically. In 2022, they will be in the best possible shape. That is an advantage for everyone. Another point is that Qatar is a small country, so players will hardly have to travel. They will stay in the same hotel throughout the tournament.

“It will not be like in previous events, which I think is a great advantage for the players. And of course, it’s also an advantage for the fans. You will be able to watch two matches on the same day, which means we will have a historic World Cup. I have no doubt that people will be pleasantly surprised when they come to Qatar and experience what the country has to offer.”
