Despite the recent downturn in results, Xavi has given a clear message on his future as the FC Barcelona manager.

Xavi Hernandez has no worries over his future, with the Barcelona manager adamant he has the ‘complete confidence’ of the board.

With only two wins in five games (D1 L2) in all tournaments, Barcelona have dropped to fourth place in LaLiga. They now face a crucial week, with fixtures coming up against Porto on Wednesday and Atletico Madrid on Sunday.

“I feel supported by the club in every sense,” Xavi said at a press conference on Monday.

“I speak daily with the president [Joan Laporta] and with [sporting director] Deco. They believe in the project and know how hard we work. There is complete confidence.

“I am the leader of this team and I believe in my players. I don’t feel alone. I have blind faith in my players and my staff. I have the confidence of Deco, the president, my staff, and the players.”

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has also publicly backed Xavi, insisting he has ‘full confidence’ in the coach.

On Wednesday, Barca can ease some of the pressure off Xavi by beating FC Porto in the Champions League. A victory would seal a last-16 spot and move them three points clear at the top of Group H.
