The legendary midfielder Xavi Hernandez moves inches closer to making a Barcelona return following the departure of Ronald Koeman.

Yesterday night, there was an unwavering feeling in the air that Ronald Koeman would get sacked soon, as Barcelona faced a 1-0 loss to Rayo Vallecano. Secondly, the positive rumour that club legend Xavi would make a comeback was also well thought.

Regardless of the unstable economic condition of the Catalan club, club president Joan Laporta announced Koeman’s exit hours after the game. In addition, Barcelona have also announced that team B coach, Sergi Berjaun, will be the new interim boss of the first team.

Yes, the rumours regarding Xavi are true according to Fabrizio Romano, as the Spaniard will soon take over Koeman’s position as a manager at Camp Nou. The 42-year-old is currently monitoring Al-Sadd in the Qatari League.

Xavi > Koeman? ☝️🇪🇸

The all-time great Spanish midfielder has racked 767 appearances for Barca during his incredible 20 years with the club. Xavi initially renewed his contract with Al-Sadd earlier this year, but unknowingly has a release clause if Barcelona required his duties.

Indeed, the time has come and the Blaugrana are in desperate need of their club favourite at this moment. As per Ben Jacobs, if Xavi flies to his old team, Al-Sadd will happily let him go and also keep him as an ambassador for Qatar 2022.

Their overall relationship will be positive and the former playmaker will soon become a Barca manager if an offer is completed. The real question now is that will Xavi be able to bring more success to Barcelona than Ronald Koeman?
