Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez has given an update on Robert Lewandowski and Lamine Yamal’s conditions.

On Wednesday, Barca secured a hard-fought 1-0 win against FC Porto in the Champions League. Ferran Torres’ first-half goal sealed all three points in Portugal. The victory came at a price though, as Lewandowski and Yamal had to be substituted during the game.

Lewandowski lasted just 34 minutes before he came off with an ankle problem.

“Lewandowski has a knock; we will see if he recovers,” Xavi said in a post-match press conference.

As for Yamal, the winger became the Champions League’s youngest-ever starter at 16 years and 83 days old.

The teenager’s record-breaking night, however, ended in illness, forcing him to leave the pitch in the second half.

“Yamal felt bad; he had stomach pain,” Xavi explained.

Barcelona will hope Lewandowski and Yamal can indeed recover in time for Sunday’s trip to Granada in LaLiga. The Blaugrana are already missing several key players, including Pedri, Frenkie de Jong, and Raphinha.

Nonetheless, Xavi’s side sits second in the Spanish league standings, one point behind Real Madrid. They also lead Group H in the Champions League, with six points from two games.
