Amongst the top deals received by the Wolves striker during the summer transfer window, Manchester United was one of them.

Wolves ace Raul Jimenez affirmed that he received a call from Manchester United over a transfer move during the summer. And the Mexico international is eager to see how his future pans out as he refused to rule out the move to Old Trafford. Jimenez had an incredible 2019-20 campaign with 27 goals across all competitions for Wolves. Moreover, the 27-year-old made it to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s wishlist for the Red Devils.

According to Goal, United are eager to sign Jimenez since January 2020, along with teammate Ruben Neves. However, Solskjaer’s side finally made a move for Odion Ighalo who arrived on loan from Shanghai Shenhua on January 31. And Jimenez ultimately decided to continue working with The Wanderers. He, therefore, extended his stay at the Molineux Stadium with a three-and-a-half-year agreement.

He is open to explore.

The Mexican’s recent comments indicate that he is open to exploring life outside Wolves. He told TUDN: “One day I woke up and Juventus wanted me, another Manchester United and what I know is that there were approaches made. But an agreement was never reached and nothing was close. I’m very happy at Wolves.”

Jimenez added: “The truth is I am very happy in Wolverhampton. It’s never wrong to be in a place where you are well but they know that I am not satisfied [with my form], I always look for more.

“It (a move) did not happen this time. If it happens at some point then it will have to be what is best for me, for Wolves, and the team that I join. But I am very happy at Wolves and is considered a very important player.”

Wolves now stand ninth on the Premier League table, with Jimenez’s four goals in eight appearances. The ex-Benfica attacker is currently on international duty with Mexico and will encounter South Korea and Japan.
