The Wolverhampton Wanderers winger has been touted as a potential replacement for club-record signing Nicolas Pepe.

Wolves manager Bruno Lage insists no offers from Arsenal have come for winger Pedro Neto.

A report from The Athletic this week claimed Neto is Arsenal’s top target to replace Pepe if the Ivorian’s loan move to French side Nice gets the green light, and that talks had already taken place between the club and the player’s agent, Jorge Mendes, over a month ago.

The rumor doesn’t surprise Lage, although the coach maintains that no offer has arrived for Neto either.

“I have heard that, but nothing has come to us,” Lage said after Wolves’ 2-1 EFL Cup second-round win over Preston on Tuesday.

“It’s normal now, with the good players that we have. Teams are looking for good players in the same way we are looking for [Goncalo] Guedes, Matheus [Nunes], [Nathan] Collins. No one told me anything about any proposal.”

Neto is under contract at Wolves until June 2027 after signing a new long-term deal with the Premier League club in March.

The 22-year-old Portuguese is currently preparing for Sunday’s league match against Newcastle.
