The Red Devils got back to winning ways in the Premier League after a dramatic victory at Molineux Stadium.
Manchester United defeated Wolves 4-3 in their Premier League game on Thursday. A solid attacking display ensured United’s narrow win against their in-form rivals.
What happened?
United stunned their opponents with an early goal as Marcus Rashford put them ahead only five minutes into the game. The goal forced Wolves to send more bodies forward as they pushed to score an equalizer. But that only opened up more space for United’s attacks. Following a few missed chances, Rasmus Hojlund converted a low cross from Luke Shaw to double his side’s lead in the 22nd minute.
Wolves intensified their attacks after the break, finally scoring their first goal of the night from the penalty spot in the 71st minute. However, United restored their two-goal lead when Scott McTominay made it 3-1 only four minutes later.
Max Kilman brought the hosts back into the game with another goal in the 85th minute. United were stunned with an unexpected equalizer from Pedro Neto ten minutes later. But even that wasn’t the end of this crazy match. Kobbie Mainoo rushed into the box before unleashing a perfect low shot to win the game for the Red Devils in the 97th minute.
Wolves vs Manchester United: Man of the Match
Bruno Fernandes deserves the Man of the Match title for his brilliant display against Wolves. In addition to providing an assist for his side’s opening goal, Fernandes’ commanding presence in midfield and his defensive efforts played a crucial role in preserving United’s lead.
