Goals from Kevin De Bruyne, Phil Foden and Gabriel Jesus secured a convinvcing 3-1 win for City over Wolves at the Molineux stadium on Monday

Manchester City started their 2020/21 Premier League campaign with a convincing win over Wolves at the Molineux stadium.

Having lost this fixture last season, all eyes were on Guardiola’s men to avoid a repeat of last season’s result. Asides that, the Citizens are also one of the strong favorites for the title this time around as they look to regain their crown from Liverpool.

City dominated from the onset and it was no surprise the first goal came early. Kevin De Bruyne was fouled in the area in the 20th minute and converted the penalty himself. Just 12 minutes later, Phil Foden grabbed a second for his side after a neat play that saw Sterling feed him from the flanks.

Raul Jimenez pulled one back in the 78th minute to give hopes of a comeback. All of that was put to bed when Gabriel Jesus fired home in the final stages of the game. In all, it was a convincing win for Guardiola and City.
