A narrow defeat at Molineux keeps Chelsea in the 11th spot on the league table.

Wolves defeated Chelsea 1-0 in their Premier League game on Saturday. The Blues’ disappointing winless run in the league stretches to four matches.

Lampard off to a slow start!

Chelsea announced Frank Lampard as their interim manager until the end of the season earlier this week.

The English manager didn’t have much time to prepare his side for the Wolves match, something that was evident from the start of the game.

Chelsea barely found any goalscoring chances throughout the first period as they failed to find their rhythm.

Wolves, on the other hand, didn’t show much enthusiasm in taking control over the possession. However, they took the lead when Matheus Nunes scored a stunning volley in the 31st minute.

Lampard tried to change the course of the game through a few lineup changes in the second half. However, the Blues’ attacking issues continued as Wolves defended effectively in their own half. The hosts even had a few chances to double their lead but failed to convert them.

Chelsea finished the game with only one shot on target, finding a disappointing start under Lampard. The Blues will now prepare to meet Real Madrid in a crucial Champions League clash on Wednesday.
