Liverpool went on top of the league table by clinching the three points in a hard-fought game.

Liverpool defeated Wolves with a 1-0 result in their Premier League game on Saturday. The Reds secured their fifth consecutive victory as they leapfrogged Chelsea from the top of the table.

Origi fires a last-minute winner!

Liverpool came into the game knowing a victory will send them to the top of the league table. After a quiet first half, the Reds intensified their efforts to get the opener in the second period.

Diogo Jota came closest in just before the hour mark. Following a defensive mix-up, the Liverpool forward found himself in front of an open goal. However, he fired the ball straight into Coady’s midriff, missing a great chance to break the deadlock.

The game seemed destined to end in a draw, but Divock Origi once again lived up to his reputation as a super sub. Mohamed Salah’s inch-perfect pass found Origi, who won the game for Liverpool by smashing it behind Jose Sa.

Liverpool are now leading the Premier League with 34 points from their 15 matches. However, they must wait for Man City’s game against Watford tonight. The Reds will sit second on the table if Pep Guardiola’s men manage to beat the Hornets.

On the other hand, Wolves slipped to eighth place on the table after remaining winless for the third consecutive game.
