Liverpool snatched a narrow win to reach the fourth round of the FA Cup.

Liverpool defeated Wolves 1-0 in their replayed FA Cup match on Tuesday. An early goal from Harvey Elliott was enough to ensure the Reds’ qualification to the next round.

Liverpool return to winning ways!

The Reds came into the game on the back of their disappointing performance against Brighton on Saturday. Unlike that game, however, Jurgen Klopp’s men started the match by quickly finding their attacking rhythm.

Following a few missed chances, Elliott broke the deadlock in the 13th minute. The 19-year-old carried the ball for a few meters before unleashing an unstoppable shot from behind the box.

The Reds didn’t show much enthusiasm in going forward for the rest of the first period. Wolves, on the other hand, remained toothless going forward, with their attacks lacking enough edge to break Liverpool’s resistance.

Liverpool pushed double their lead after the break, with Klopp even replacing Cody Gakpo with Mohamed Salah. However, the Reds stayed too cautious of Wolves’ counter-attacks when moving forward.

The hosts increased the pressure on Liverpool’s backline in the final ten minutes but couldn’t find the equalizer. The Reds will take on Brighton in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

Before that, however, they must return to the Premier League to take on Chelsea in a crucial game this weekend.
