The Red Dragons have added four new players to their ranks this summer.

Wrexham could complete another signing before the transfer window closes, according to manager Phil Parkinson.

Following their sensational promotion to the EFL, Wrexham hope to find their place among the League Two elites this season. However, their start to the new campaign hasn’t been impressive.

Parkinson’s side have registered only five points in their first six matches of the new season, sitting 16th on the League Two table.

Asked whether his side are looking to further bolster their squad, Parkinson told reporters on Sunday: “Hopefully we will make progress. That will be a bonus if we do bring one in. But equally, it is about getting more out of the ones we have got.”

Parkinson confirmed the club are in negotiations with “players in different positions”. However, he believes his most important task is to improve Wrexham’s current squad.

He added: “We have got to make sure that we keep focusing on the ones we have got and keep improving everybody. If someone comes in, that is a bonus; we are not hanging on that we are going to bring players in but it is a bonus if that happens and if we need to, we will act. We are looking at a couple of things, but at this stage of the transfer window, you are very limited to options.”
