Diallo is enjoying fantastic form at the Championship side ahead of the January transfer window.

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has discussed the possibility of ending Amad Diallo’s loan spell at Sunderland this January.

Since joining the Championship side in the summer, Diallo has scored six goals. The Ivorian star has helped the Black Cats reach the playoff zone during the first half of the season.

As United look to add more depth to their forward line, reports have emerged of their possible decision prematurely end Diallo’s loan spell.

“We consider everything. As long as it’s strengthening the squad,” Ten Hag told reporters on Tuesday.

“But at the same time, I have a little bit of a reservation for that because I don’t want to stop the process. He’s [making] really good progress there, so I’m happy with that.

“I know also, they need experiences, young players. When we decide [for him] to come back, he has to be a player who can be starting XI, compete for starting XI [at a] minimum, for a lot of games to come in and have an impact.”

Diallo spent an underwhelming loan spell at Rangers in the second half of the last season. However, he seems ready to fight for his place in Ten Hag’s lineup due to his rediscovered form at Sunderland.
