The Portuguese duo have joined Barca on one-year loan moves.

Barcelona sporting manager Deco has discussed the club’s acquisitions of Joao Felix and Joao Cancelo.

The Catalans signed the Portuguese pair in the final stages of the transfer window. Both players look to rediscover their spark after struggling for playing time at their parent clubs.

However, Barca are yet to decide on possibly handing them permanent deals.

“There’s no buy option in both João Félix and Cancelo deals — one-year loan,” Deco told reporters.

“If they perform at good level, we will try to keep them at the club. We will be on it, this is not something being discussed today.”

Cancelo left City after falling out of favour under Pep Guardiola. He made a total of 21 appearances for Bayern Munich after his January loan move to Allianz Arena. But the German champions decided against offering him a permanent contract.

Felix, on the other hand, fulfils his “childhood dream” of playing for Barcelona. The Golden Boy winner struggled to live up to expectations after a €126m move to Atletico Madrid. He has a chance to revive his career under Xavi as Barca push to defend their La Liga title this season.

Barca will return to La Liga with a match against Real Betis on Saturday.
