The Reds midfielder is one of many to indicate dissatisfaction with the hectic schedule that leaves players little time to prepare for games.
Virgil van Dijk suffered a potentially season-ending injury when he damaged his knee ligament in the Merseyside derby back in October.
If that wasn’t already enough for the team’s title retention hopes to start dwindling away, a number of key Liverpool players picked up untimely knocks.
Thiago Alcantara, Joel Matip, Jordan Henderson, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez, Alisson, Andrew Robertson, and James Milner have all been forced onto the treatment table at some point.
With some of those still on the sidelines, Jurgen Klopp has been forced to bring in a few players from the academy or get creative while naming his line-ups.
A hectic schedule amid the global pandemic is one of the reasons behind Liverpool’s lengthy injury list, and Georginio Wijnaldum admits his side lack the adequate amount of time for preparation in between games.
“I don’t really have anything to complain about. I am blessed to stay fit during this period,” Wijnaldum told reporters after his side’s 1-0 Champions League win over Ajax, via Goal.
“I hope I can hold on until the end of the season. That’s going to be very difficult, but I’m confident.
“It’s really just playing matches and resting at the moment. There’s not really any training because there’s not a lot of time for that.”
