Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum has refused to comment on speculation linking him with a move to Barcelona this summer.
Over the past few weeks, Wijnaldum has been linked with a summer exit from Anfield.
Barcelona is tipped as his most likely destination should he depart the Reds. A reunion with former Netherlands boss and now Barca coach Ronald Koeman is well on the cards.
Wijnaldum has just one year left on his current Liverpool contract and the club are taking their time regarding a contract renewal.
Despite his consistent solid displays under Jurgen Klopp, the Dutchman is still on the same £75,000-a-week contract he was on when he signed from Newcastle in 2016.
With rumors of his exit in full swing, Wiljnaldum chose not to comment on his future at Liverpool while on duty for Netherlands.
“They are only rumours,” Wijnaldum said as quoted by Marca while on international duty with the Dutch team.
“At the moment I can’t say anything.”
He saw the funny side of things when further asked if he could be an integral signing for the Catalan giants.
“I thought you were going to say that I can be a pillar of the Dutch national team,” Wijnaldum said with a wry smile on his face.
“If you ask me about the Oranje, I can answer.”
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp also remains unfazed about the growing rumors surrounding the Dutchman.
