The Gunners are in the market to add a new striker to their ranks.
Arsenal should sign Ivan Toney to “eliminate” their goalscoring issues, according to Graeme Souness.
The Gunners have struggled to maintain consistency with their attacking form this season, scoring significantly fewer goals than their top-four rivals.
Mikel Arteta has Gabriel Jesus at his disposal as a natural No.9, but Souness believes more attacking reinforcement is needed at Emirates.
“I think for most people, Arsenal needed another striker with [Gabriel] Jesus,” he told talkSPORT (via Metro).
Souness added: “We were talking about Toney… when you are buying a player, you are trying to eliminate the problem. Why would he not be successful here [at Arsenal].
“So if he is a foreigner, will he deal with a different culture, will his family deal with that, will he pick up the language quick enough, will be able to deal with the intensity of the English game?
“So you try and take out one of them.”
Arsenal continue their Premier League campaign with a match against Crystal Palace on Saturday before taking on Nottingham Forest ten days later.
