The reason for Rio Ferdinand left during a broadcast of the Paris Saint-Germain vs Newcastle United match has been revealed.
Rio Ferdinand left the PSG vs Newcastle game to return to his hotel room to recover from an illness.
In Tuesday’s Champions League game, Ferdinand was present for the pre-match build-up on TNT Sports. Yet, he was absent for the post-match analysis. Jermaine Jenas and Ally McCoist appeared instead to discuss the 1-1 draw and the upcoming matches with presenter Laura Woods.
During the broadcast, Woods addressed Ferdinand’s absence briefly. She said he had to leave because of “unforeseen circumstances”, but assured viewers that he was okay and that there was no need to worry.
According to the Daily Mail, Ferdinand is already feeling better after a night’s rest in his hotel room in Paris. He is now in Istanbul to provide analysis for Manchester United’s game against Galatasaray on Wednesday.
The 45-year-old took to social media on Wednesday afternoon to assure everyone he is fine and raring to go.
