The Spurs bounced back from a disappointing run of results with an impressive victory over Newcastle.

Tottenham crushed Newcastle 4-1 in their Premier League game on Sunday. The Spurs claimed their first victory in six matches to stay in EPL’s fifth spot.

What happened?

Newcastle’s Alexander Isaak missed the game’s first big chance, but the game was soon dominated by Tottenham. The hosts put Newcastle’s backline under immense pressure from both sides, finally breaking the deadlock through Destiny Udogie in the 26th minute.

The Magpies failed to make a quick reaction to the goal as Tottenham pushed for the second goal. The Spurs doubled their lead only 12 minutes after Udogie’s opener. This time, Son Heung-min’s precise cutback was converted by Richarlison, who scored his second goal of the season.

The Spurs remained in control of the game after the break, with the Brazilian striker making it 3-0 just before the hour-mark. Eddie How made several changes to his squad as Newcastle tried to mount a comeback. However, it was Son who put the icing on the cake for Spurs by converting a penalty in the 85th minute. Newcastle pulled one back through Joelinton in the extra time, settling for a 4-1 defeat in London.

Man of the Match

Son made another incredible performance for Tottenham as they defeated Everton and returned to winning ways in the Premier League. The South Korean forward registered two assists as Spurs went 2-0 ahead before the break. He then completed his side’s victory by scoring a penalty in the second half.
