Considering the poor run of fixtures for Barcelona, the board will have to look for potential replacements for head coach Ronald Koeman.

Granted that Ronald Koeman is still intact as a Barcelona manager, rumours of his replacement have been torturing the “culers” around the world. If truth be told, reports regarding his potential successor are circling, especially in Spain. And why not? If we take a look at the statistical data of Barca, Koeman has been underperforming. In fact, if it was not for the degrading financial situation of the club, the Dutch boss could have been sacked by now.

Nevertheless, despite suffering a Clasico shame at Camp Nou, Koeman still has his job due to the support from the Barca committee. That being said, it is only a matter of time and we will witness the 58-year-old getting replaced. Some reports indicated that AFC Ajax manager Erik ten Hag was a top priority for Barcelona for the next season, as Koeman will run out of contract. But, it appears that the focus has shifted towards a more familiar face for the Barca fans.

It will be the legend himself!

According to AS Diario, the Catalan club will seek to sign Xavi as an alternative for Ronald Koeman in the future. The Blaugrana icon has been doing quite well for himself at Al Sadd in Qatar, having won seven trophies already. On Tuesday, the midfielder marked his 100th cap for the Qatari club against Umm Salal, winning the game by 3-1. It is not surprising at all that the Spaniard has totally transformed the Arab team with the Barca style of play.

Previously, Xavi had some issues with the Barcelona club president, Joan Laporta. Though, things have settled down between the two of them. Moreover, during several interviews, the legendary playmaker has admitted that he wishes to return to Camp Nou someday or the other. Under Koeman, Barca are struggling already as they stand ninth in the domestic league. Also, the Champions League prospect does not provide any positives. If things get drastically negative in the coming weeks, the board will then have to arrive at a decision.
