Pep Guardiola has revealed when Manchester City may be able to expect star duo Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne to return from their respective injuries.

Manchester City stars Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne remain sidelined for now.

The pair were again absent during City’s 3-1 win over Everton in the Premier League on Wednesday. Haaland has now missed five games because of a foot injury. A hamstring problem, meanwhile, has kept De Bruyne out of the squad since mid-August, restricting him to just one game all season.

When will Haaland be back for Man City?

Haaland has resumed training on his own, but Pep Guardiola hopes he will return to group training before January ends.

“[Haaland] is training alone but he is not training with the team,” the City manager said after Wednesday’s match at Goodison Park.

“It is a question of when the pain will disappear.

“We hope he will be back in January, but the stress on the bone is so painful. He is not like a guy like Phil Foden with smaller skin — Erling is huge.

“He will be back and play. But it is up to the doctors. The doctors come every morning and say this player is available and this is not.”

When will De Bruyne be back for Man City?

Unlike Haaland, De Bruyne is back in group training. Guardiola has said he hopes the midfielder might play against Championship side Huddersfield Town in a third-round FA Cup tie on January 7.

“He is training with us and he is so positive. Soon he will be back,” Guardiola said of De Bruyne.

“I would love [for him] to play the next game or Huddersfield, but it is important to keep fit for a long time.”
