Man City have slipped eight points behind Arsenal at the top of the Premier League table.

Pep Guardiola insists Manchester City have enough experience to turn the tide in their Premier League title race against Arsenal.

The Gunners went eight points clear when they won the north London derby against Tottenham last weekend. Man City’s narrow defeat against Manchester United convinced many observers that Arsenal are now in pole position to claim the title.

Guardiola, however, is not ready to give up on his dreams of claiming a third consecutive trophy in the English top flight.

“It’s better, you can drop points and still be [ahead]. When you are behind you cannot drop points,” Guardiola, who has led City to founr league titles since 2017, said.

“The pressure is the next game. We’re not able to think about big expectations, just win the next game. At the end the competition will dictate. If [Arsenal] are in front, they deserve it.

“Many games to play, it’s how we come back. The next game is the only important thing. Win the next game, after we will see what happens.

“We have been in this position many times in the past, many times. It’s not the first time we are there.”

City hope to return to winning ways when they take on Tottenham in their next Premier League game on Thursday.
