The Hammers are on the verge of adding a versatile defender to their ranks.

West Ham have reportedly reached an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain to sign Thilo Kehrer.

The German star has a year left on his contract. However, PSG have decided to allow his departure to avoid a free move next summer.

The 25-year-old is a timely addition to West Ham’s injury-depleted squad.

Neyef Aguerd, who joined the Hammers earlier this summer, is out of action after his ankle surgery. Angelo Ogbonna is yet to recover from his last season’s ACL injury while Craig Dawson is not available due to a hamstring problem.

According to 90min, Kehrer has flown to London to complete his medical. The Hammers are reportedly planning to announce his move as their sixth summer signing on Wednesday.

The London side have already added Aguerd, Alphonse Areola, Flynn Downes, Gianluca Scamacca and Maxwell Cornet to their ranks this summer.

However, several English sources have claimed the Hammers will stay active in the market after Kehrer’s arrival. Given the current state of their backline, West Ham will most likely add another defender to their ranks before the transfer window’s deadline.
