The defensive midfielder was reportedly being strongly courted by the Blues while Frank Lampard still held the managerial office.

West Ham manager David Moyes insists he would not sell Declan Rice even for £100 million (€116m), saying the player is worth “far, far more than” that amount.

Rice was heavily linked with a move to Chelsea last summer as well as during the winter market, with the Englishman reportedly a major transfer target for Frank Lampard, who was sacked in January.

Manchester United were also linked with the 22-year-old, and reports claim the Red Devils are ready to revive their interest in him after the conclusion of this season.

Rice has developed into one of the best defensive midfielders in the Premier League during his six senior years with West Ham, having made his debut for the club at the age of 16 in 2015.

“I don’t agree with the owners that Declan Rice is a £100m footballer. Far, far more than £100m. Far, far more,” said Moyes, as Sky Sports reports.

“I look at the players who have joined some clubs from overseas and come in and nowhere near had the impact Declan Rice would have.

“I certainly wouldn’t put a price on it. You can decide which figure you want to put on it but I wouldn’t be sanctioning anything like that, that’s for sure.”
