Let’s take a look at the Premier League Player Ratings from the showdown between West Bromwich Albion and Tottenham Hotspur.

Harry Kane’s header in the dying moments not only secured Tottenham a 1-0 win over West Brom, but it sent them to the top of the Premier League table for the first time in six years.

Things got off to a relatively low-key start at the Hawthorns on Sunday afternoon despite Kane, Son Heung-min, and Gareth Bale starting together in a deadly attacking trio. But as exciting as it looked on paper, few real chances materialized.

Jose Mourinho’s attack, in fact, appeared flat following a flurry of opportunities that ultimately came to nothing.

Only Hugo Lloris’ superb save from a Karlan Grant header and the left-hand post spared Spurs falling behind as West Brom pushed in search of an unexpected winner.

But Kane came to the rescue once again by capitalising on a lapse of concentration from the hosts’ defense to run into the box unmarked and head in Matt Doherty’s cross in the 88th-minute for his 150th Premier League goal.

The England captain’s effort has temporarily, at least for the next few hours, sent Mourinho’s men top of the league standings on 17 points from eight games.

West Brom, on the other hand, remain down in the relegation zone ahead of the international break on a mere three points.
