The Blues are said to be in the market for a new No. 9, which means the Germany international could be deemed surplus to requirements.
Timo Werner’s agent is “very clear” that his client would continue at Chelsea next season but is unsure about his long-term future at the club.
Werner joined Chelsea on a big-money move last summer on the back of a productive season in Bundesliga.
Although becoming a key cog in the Blues attack, the German marksman more often than not was rather ineffective in his debut season in the Premier League.
This has led to speculations he could exit Stamford Bridge this summer. Chelsea, meanwhile, have been linked with Tottenham striker Harry Kane and Inter Milan frontman Romelu Lukaku.
“You can’t rule out anything, but if I had to assess it at the moment, then I would say very clearly that Timo will stay at Chelsea,” Werner’s agent told Sport1.
“He feels comfortable there. A move will not be an issue in the foreseeable future.
A reunion with Julian Nagelsmann at Bayern Munich has been suggested for Werner, who notched up an impressive 34 goals and 13 assists in his final season at RB Leipzig.
“Julian [Nagelsmann] let Timo play in a different position at Leipzig. A bit like Thomas Muller at Bayern. Julian and Timo appreciate each other.
“Of course, I don’t yet know what will happen in three or four years. Football is fast moving.”
