Depay still undecided over his future

Memphis Depay was close to a summer switch to Barcelona before the club’s financial restrictions pulled the plug on a potential deal, despite having agreed on personal terms.

The former Manchester United winger has since remained at Lyon but will be out of contract next summer. He wishes to keep his focus on the 2020/21 campaign for now, though, rather than think about his future. [Goal]

West Brom to sack Bilic despite draw at City

A 1-1 draw away to Manchester City may not be enough to save Slaven Bilic’s job. West Brom, who are second-bottom in the Premier League table on seven points from 13 games, are growing more worried about a relegation battle.

The Baggies board, therefore, may sack Bilic shortly in a bid to revive the squad for the rest of this season. [Telegraph]

Could Neymar reunite with Messi at Barca instead?

Barcelona presidential candidate Emili Rousaud dropped a bombshell this week by declaring Lionel Messi’s salary ‘cannot be sustained’, implying the Argentine will need to take a pay cut to extend his contract at Camp Nou.

But Rousaud is confident he has a sporting project that will convince Messi to stay. To sweeten the deal, the Catalan has been ‘in contact with Neymar’s people’ over a Barcelona return.

The 28-year-old apparently still wants to come back to the club but will have to wait until his PSG contract expires in 2022. [AS – in Spanish]
