Manchester United set to revive interest in €60m La Liga defender
The Red Devils could reignite their transfer interest in Villarreal center-back Pau Torres for this summer.
Manchester United considered the 25-year-old last summer before signing Raphael Varane. Injury problems, however, have caused Varane to miss several games this season. Eric Bailly and Phil Jones could also be on their way out of Old Trafford. Therefore, United have decided to sign a new central defender.
Torres is on the club’s shortlist. The Spain international has a reported €60 million release clause. But while he is open to a summer move, his focus lies on Villarreal’s upcoming Champions League semi-final against Liverpool. The first leg takes place at Anfield next Wednesday. Both Real Madrid and Barcelona remain interested in signing Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger.

Sevilla unlikely to sign Martial
Anthony Martial is set to return to Manchester United once his loan deal at Sevilla ends this summer.
The 26-year-old forward has struggled to make his mark in Spain amid injury problems and a lack of form. This, plus his €15-million-per-season contract, makes a permanent move unlikely.

Vinicius Junior set for new Real Madrid contract
Real Madrid plan to tie down the future of Vinicius Junior by handing him a new five-year contract.
The 21-year-old forward has impressed this season, producing 17 goals and 17 assists in 44 games across all competitions. Therefore, Real Madrid have no plans to let him go anytime soon. [Here we go podcast]
