Haaland’s release clauses at Man City revealed
Erling Haaland could have as many as three release clauses in his Manchester City contract. According to Fernando Sanz, one of them is a Real Madrid transfer clause for 2024.
The former Real Madrid defender told El Chiringuito: “The information I have is that there is an exit clause for Haaland in the second year, and the curious thing is that it has very beneficial conditions compared to the rest for one club, which is Real Madrid.”
Further reports have added that Haaland has two other release clauses in his City contract that may allow the striker to leave the club for €200 million in 2024 and €175 million in 2025. [Marca]
Forest consider Cooper replacements
Former Liverpool and Newcastle boss Rafael Benitez is the frontrunner to replace Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper.
While Cooper looks set to continue at City Ground for now, the rock-bottom Premier League strugglers are considering replacements. Ex-Burnley coach Sean Dyche is also an option. [The Guardian]

The race for Kudus heats up
The transfer race for Ajax forward Mohammed Kudus is heating up.
Borussia Dortmund, Tottenham Hotspur, and Everton are all interested in the 22-year-old Ghanaian. He could command a transfer fee of around €10 million.
Kudus, who is under contract at Ajax until June 2025, has been excellent this season. In 12 appearances across all competitions, he has scored eight goals for the reigning Dutch champions. [Bild – in German]
Alonso tipped to become the next Leverkusen manager
Former Liverpool, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich midfielder Xabi Alonso could become the next Bayer Leverkusen manager.
A poor start to the season has left Leverkusen down in 17th place in the Bundesliga table. Therefore, the club board is considering Gerardo Seoane’s future as head coach.
Alonso would welcome the chance to coach at the BayArena. The 40-year-old Spaniard has been out of work since leaving Real Sociedad B in May after three years in charge. [ESPN]

Kante-Chelsea contract talks stall
Contract talks between N’Golo Kante and Chelsea have stalled because of a dispute about the length of the deal.
Kante wants a long-term contract, similar to the one summer signing Kalidou Koulibaly has until 2026. But Chelsea have only offered him a two-year deal, with an option for a further 12 months included.
The 31-year-old midfielder, who has made just two appearances due to injury this season, is out of contract next summer. [Daily Mail]
Sampaoli might replace Lopetegui at Sevilla
Sevilla may replace Julen Lopetegui with former manager Jorge Sampaoli.
A poor start to the season has left Sevilla down in 17th place in LaLiga, one point above the relegation zone. The Rojiblancos, therefore, have approached Sampaoli. The Argentinian has agreed to terms for a two-year contract. [ESPN]
