Barcelona identify top targets to replace Sergio Busquets

Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi and Wolves’ Ruben Neves could replace Sergio Busquets as Barcelona eye up potential transfer targets.

Busquets may end a career-long association with Barca when his contract expires next summer by heading to the MLS. The club board, therefore, has shortlisted replacements.

Zubimendi is one option. The 23-year-old is rated highly, but has a €60 million release clause in his Real Sociedad contract. Next up is Neves, who probably won’t come much cheaper. The 25-year-old’s agent, Jorge Mendes, has an excellent relationship with Barcelona though, which could pave the way for negotiations. [Marca]

Eintracht Frankfurt attacking midfielder Jesper Lindstrom is on Arsenal’s radar.

Leao seeks a new AC Milan contract

AC Milan forward Rafael Leao wants to sign a new contract amid interest from Chelsea.

The 23-year-old Portuguese’s current deal at San Siro runs until June 2024. Chelsea approached AC Milan in the summer, but the Rossoneri were quick to say no to the Premier League side.
