Arsenal make improved €40m offer for top Man Utd target

The Gunners have tabled an improved €40 million transfer offer for Ajax defender Lisandro Martinez.

Earlier this month, Ajax rejected a €30 million bid from Arsenal. The Dutch champions ideally want around €50 million for Martinez. Manchester United are also keen on the 24-year-old Argentine. However, at this stage of the summer, they’re yet to make a formal offer. [ESPN]

Chelsea set to beat Arsenal and Barcelona to Raphinha

The Blues have leapfrogged Arsenal and Barcelona in the race for Leeds United winger Raphinha.

The 25-year-old Brazilian favored a transfer to Barcelona, but the Catalan club’s financial crisis has prevented it. This has allowed Chelsea to swoop in. The Premier League giants have agreed on a £55 million (€64m) fee with Leeds. They will now discuss personal terms with Raphinha. [Guardian]

Man Utd hijack Lyon’s bid for Malacia

Manchester United have struck a €17 million deal to sign Feyenoord left-back Tyrell Malacia.

The 22-year-old Dutchman appeared to be on his way to Lyon. The French club had an agreement in place to sign him before Manchester United swopped in on Monday.

The Richarlison-Spurs saga takes another twist

Tottenham have offered £20 million (€23m) and winger Steven Bergwijn for Everton forward Richarlison.

Everton, though, have rejected the offer. Spurs had also considered offering the Merseyside club Harry Winks and Lucas Moura for Richarlison, who is of interest to Chelsea. [Telegraph – subscription required]

Manchester United have agreed on an initial transfer fee of €65 million transfer fee with Barcelona for midfielder Frenkie de Jong. Add-ons will be included, which could raise the final fee closer to Barca’s €85 million asking price.
