The Blues boss suggests his side showed some vulnerability after the break and notes that they were fortunate to not conceded a goal.

Thomas Tuchel insists Chelsea showed a “lack of concentration” in the second half of the 2-0 win over Sheffield United on Sunday.

A first-half own goal from Oliver Norwood and a stoppage-time strike from Hakim Ziyech helped Chelsea get past Sheffield United and book their place in the FA Cup semi-finals.

The victory saw the Blues extend their unbeaten streak to 14 games in all competitions. A seventh successive clean sheet was also recorded – their best run since December 2005.

“We had a good first half where we controlled everything,” Tuchel told BBC Sport post-match. “We lost control in the second half, we were clearly tired.

“We were lucky to keep the clean sheet in the second half but I think it’s the first time in the 14 games we have looked tired.

“We let them come back because we had full control in the first half and in the second half [we had] a big chance with Christian Pulisic to finish the game early. We made too many easy mistakes and lost duels and lost some momentum. I could tell in training we were tired and there was a lack of concentration.”
