Just a day after dismissing Xisco Munoz as the head coach, Watford have turned to Claudio Ranieri to lead their assault in the Premier League.

Watford have announced the appointment of Claudio Ranieri as their new manager on a two-year contract.

The Italian returns to England for a fourth spell in the Premier League after previously coaching Chelsea, Leicester City, and Fulham. He had been out of work since leaving Sampdoria in June.

In Ranieri, Watford have one of the most experienced and proven coaches in the game. The 69-year-old has enjoyed success in Italy, England, and Spain. His most famous moment was leading Leicester to Premier League glory in 2015/16.

In a statement on Monday night, Watford also confirmed Paolo Benetti and Carlo Cornacchia as Ranieriโ€™s assistants. Carlo Spignoli will join the club as the fitness coach as well.

Ranieri will make his Hornets debut in a Premier League match against Liverpool at Vicarage Road on October 16.
