Sergio Ramos yelled at a fan to be quiet and show respect during an interview with DAZN on Thursday.
The Sevilla defender spoke to the broadcaster after his side lost 2-0 to Athletic Club at home. During the interview, he stopped and looked into the crowd, telling a fan to “show a little respect we’re talking.”
“Have some respect for people and the [Sevilla] badge, we’re talking,” he said.
“Respect people, go on, shut up and walk away.”
What’s happened to Sevilla this season?
This confrontation came following another forgettable evening at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuan Stadium.
Despite Sevilla having 61% of possession, Athletic had the measure of their Andalusian opponents. They won the game 2-0 thanks to goals from Mikel Vesga and Aitor Paredes.
The loss marked Sevilla’s ninth defeat of the season in 19 LaLiga games. This has left them in 16th place in the standings, one point above the relegation zone.
They’ve already sacked two managers this season – Jose Luis Mendilibar and Diego Alonso. Quique Sánchez Flores was hired in December. Yet, while Sevilla won 3-0 against Granada on his debut, they’ve since lost to Atletico Madrid and Athletic.
The 2022/23 Europa League winners will next face second-tier side Racing de Ferrol in the Copa del Rey on Sunday.
