PSG went ahead only eight seconds into their Ligue 1 clash against Lille.

Lionel Messi provided a brilliant long-range assist for Kylian Mbappe in the eighth second of Paris Saint-Germain’s clash against Lille on Sunday.

The French side found a brilliant start to the game as Mbappe broke the deadline early.

Only three touches into the Ligue 1 battle, Messi sent the ball over the entire Lille side to find Mbappe.

The 23-year-old then put PSG ahead by knocking the ball past the goalkeeper with his first touch of the night. The goal became the fastest goal in the history of the French top flight.

How good is the Messi-Mbappe linkup?

PSG have found a brilliant start to life under newly-appointed Christophe Galtier.

The Parisians have scored ten goals in their first two Ligue 1 matches of the new season after winning the Trophee des Champions with a 4-0 win over Nantes.

The devastating trio of Messi, Mbappe and Neymar looks uncontrollable on the pitch. However, off-field problems between the three attackers have re-surfaced media in recent days.

According to Marca, Galtier has so far done a good job of ‘controlling’ the situation at Parc des Princes. Let’s see if he can avoid becoming the next victim of the power tussle between the PSG stars.
