The Citizens defeated Liverpool in the title race by pulling off a brilliant comeback.

Footage has emerged of Pep Guardiola’s half-time speech on the final matchday of the 2021-22 Premier League season.

The Citizens came into their game against Aston Villa being a point above Liverpool on the table.

However, their unsuccessful efforts to control the possession led to Villa’s opening goal in the 37th minute.

Pep’s side ended the first half being 1-0 down. Their title rivals, Liverpool, were a victory away from the trophy. But Wolves had held them to a 1-1 draw by half-time.

City looked much better at the beginning of the second period. But what came next truly put their mentality to test.

Former Reds star Phillipe Coutinho doubled Villa’s lead in the 69th minute. But Guardiola’s men fought to come back into the game by continuing their attacking football.

Ilkay Gundogan and Rodri made it 2-2 for the Citizens in the span of two minutes while Liverpool completed their comeback at Anfield.

Kevin de Bruyne then completed his incredible second-half performance by providing a precise assist for Gundogan at the 81st minute.

The Etihad hero completed his brace with a nod from close range to secure City’s fourth league title under Guardiola.
